CPR/AED/First Aid
The Combined Primary and Secondary Care/ Care For Children/AED Course will both include CPR, AED, and first aid skills through knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practise. It will also teach you the differences in techniques and procedures when facing emergencies involving Adults, children or infants In that way, you will gain the confidence in ability to provide care when emergency situations arise.
Primary Care skills cover life threatening, time sensitive illnesses and injuries that require immediate response Primary Care skills taught in this part if the course:
Scene Assessment, Barrier Use, Primary Assessment, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Serious Bleeding Management, Shock Management, Spinal Injury Management, Conscious and Unconscious Choking Management and AED use.
Secondary Care (first aid) covers injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life threatening. Secondary Skills taught in this course:
Injury Assessment. Illness Assessment, Bandaging, Splinting for Dislocations and Fractures.
In addition to these core skills we also review the laws in HK that protect the responder, how to overcome hesitations and the standards and procedures for treating illnesses and injuries including:
Temperature related illnesses, Seizures, Diabetic problems, allergic reactions, animal bites & stings, eye injuries, poison management, asthma, first aid kit Assembly & Maintenance
If you just wish to learn the skills specific to Adults or Children & Infants, the course can be separated out to either Primary & Secondary Care, or Care for Children
